If you are anywhere near a newsagent’s this week, do take a look at this week’s TV Times cover. It’s one of my favorites in a while and features Emmerdale’s Mark Charnock (Marlon Dingle) with actress Amelia Flanagan (April Windsor).
Amelia is only five-years-old, yet she plays Marlon’s daughter April as if she has been an actress for several lifetimes. Mark calls her ‘My little mate’ and says that she is a ray of sunshine on set.
As well as talking about working with Amelia, Mark told me about his childhood memories of bonfire night and admitted that he is a bit of a wuss who was always too terrified to mess about with fireworks. Me and him both. In fact, I hate them so much, I used to be carried away from displays at the point of hysteria when I was a kid.
Mark loved bonfire night as a child, but wasn’t so keen on Christmas carolling as he once got picked on by a chip shop owner who noticed that he was the only child miming his way through the songs. I think we can safely assume that Mark won’t be appearing on any song based celebrity talent shows anytime soon.
To read more about Mark and Amelia, check out this week’s edition of TV Times and make sure you buy next week’s as I have done an interview with Michael Parr who plays the soap’s brooding Ross Barton.
